About the role

  • Operate and maintain studio and control room systems to support live and recorded productions.
  • Ensure all production systems—video, audio, graphics, and routing—are functioning correctly before and during broadcasts.
  • Provide real-time technical support during live productions, troubleshooting and resolving issues quickly.
  • Monitor signals, feeds, and recording systems to ensure consistent production quality.
  • Provide engineering support for remote productions, including setup, signal flow, and live transmission.
  • Coordinate with field production teams to ensure technical readiness and reliability for on-location events.
  • Assist with system configuration and integration for remote contribution tools and IP-based production workflows.
  • Maintain communication with on-site and HQ engineers to ensure seamless delivery of live content.
  • Support installation, maintenance, and upgrades of studio equipment, including switchers, routers, cameras, and monitors.
  • Perform regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on all production systems.
  • Document configurations, wiring, and workflows for operational reference and compliance.
  • Partner with engineering leadership to evaluate new technologies and implement system improvements.
  • Ensure all video and audio signals meet Comcast’s technical quality standards.
  • Calibrate and monitor signal paths to maintain consistency across broadcast and production environments.
  • Troubleshoot encoding, transmission, or routing issues to prevent disruptions.
  • Maintain high standards of reliability, redundancy, and performance across all systems.
  • Work closely with producers, directors, and production teams to meet technical requirements for each project.
  • Collaborate with IT and network teams on system connectivity, media storage, and infrastructure performance.
  • Support coordination between Studio C, Plymouth operations, and other production facilities.
  • Provide guidance and technical assistance to operators and production staff as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering , Broadcast Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–5 years of experience in video engineering, broadcast operations, or live production environments.
  • Strong technical knowledge of video and audio systems, control room workflows, and routing infrastructure.
  • Experience operating and maintaining production switchers, intercom systems, and signal monitoring tools.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in high-pressure production environments.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to support cross-functional teams.
