About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead accessibility testing efforts across products and platforms, selecting and using accessibility testing tools, assistive technologies, and conformance evaluation methodologies
- Create highly complex test plans using Navy Federal test standards and templates
- Partner with design, development, product, and accessibility teams to establish scalable accessibility testing practices throughout the product development lifecycle
- Analyze complex functional, technical, and accessibility requirements and interpret test results
- Present recommendations, alternatives, risks, blockers, and downstream impacts
- Coordinate and perform complex system integration testing, including manual and automated accessibility testing
- Participate in System Development Life Cycle activities using SAFe Agile practices and methodologies
- Participate in project sizing and estimation
- Serve as a subject matter expert and mentor peers on accessibility standards, testing methodologies, assistive technologies, and inclusive user experiences
- Create, update, and execute complex manual and automated test cases and scripts
- Develop and troubleshoot test automation using NFCU’s UFT framework and DevSecOps Test Automation Low Code Framework
- Integrate test artifacts into Azure DevOps to meet audit traceability and CI/CD standards
- Create test results, knowledge articles, sign-off documentation, and other required artifacts
- Document defects and perform advanced root-cause analysis, including accessibility defects and compliance issues
- Collaborate with developers, business partners, peers, and stakeholders to satisfy business needs
- Identify process, data, and technology improvements and provide recommendations
- Contribute to Navy Federal’s enterprise accessibility strategy, governance models, testing standards, and operational practices
- Participate in project and product team meetings
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related field, or equivalent combination of education, training or experience
- 7–10 years of experience in technology testing
- Subject matter expertise in the relevant business area or specialization
- Expert technical skills with various software programs
- Expert knowledge of testing tools, digital accessibility testing, and evaluation platforms
- Expert knowledge of WCAG and digital accessibility conformance evaluation methodologies
- Extensive experience with assistive technologies, including screen readers, screen magnification, speech recognition, and keyboard-only navigation
- Extensive experience leading accessibility testing efforts and mentoring testers
- Extensive experience partnering with designers, developers, and product teams throughout the product development lifecycle
- Experience evaluating accessibility across web, mobile, and enterprise digital platforms
- Experience developing scalable accessibility testing processes, standards, governance models, or enterprise accessibility programs
- Working knowledge of databases and SQL
- Advanced knowledge of Azure Boards, Azure Test Plans, and Micro Focus ALM
- Advanced knowledge of Micro Focus UFT, BlueZone, and test parameter files
- Working knowledge of Gherkin, Cucumber, XPath, HTML, CSS, Git, Selenium, and Azure Pipelines
- Working knowledge of API testing with Postman Pro
- Advanced knowledge of mainframe, on-premise, and cloud-hosted applications
- Expert testing-process knowledge, including test-plan creation and bug opening
- Expert knowledge of Systems Development Life Cycles
- Extensive IT-environment experience
- Expert knowledge of Navy Federal services, products, functions, business processes, and applications
- Ability to work independently and in team environments, manage tight deadlines, maintain accuracy, and exercise sound judgment
- ISTQB Foundation Level certification (CTFL)
- DevOps Institute DevOps Foundation (DOFD) certification
- ISTQB Advanced Level certifications: Agile Tester, Test Analyst, or Test Manager
