Key responsibilities & impact

Design, implement, maintain, and improve Navy Federal mainframe systems.
Configure and troubleshoot unique operating system and system software and tools.
Ensure the smooth operation of systems and develop new features and functionality to support business needs.
Work under minimal supervision and use complete understanding of business needs and objectives to support projects that have an impact on operational goals.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
Lead resolution of complex technical challenges and partner with architecture and infrastructure stakeholders to align mainframe strategy with enterprise objectives.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or other related field or equivalent work experience.
10 – 15+ years of experience in IBM mainframe, mainframe network, and related technologies.
Significant understanding of IBM mainframe peripheral architecture.
Hands-on experience with mainframe operations.
Experience leading, guiding, and coaching professional Information Technology staff.
Advanced organizational, planning, and time management skills.
Experience with Agile work management techniques and tools.
Experience with modern change management procedures and governance.
Recent experience with modern cyber security procedures and governance.
Advanced research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
