About the role
- Plan, direct and manage the operations of the Commercial Business Solutions Development branch across multiple teams nationally to enhance member experience and expand the Business Solutions loan portfolio
- Direct strategies and programs to drive production for business origination teams
- Evaluate and adjust work quality, staff performance, systems, processes, and procedures to meet goals
- Manage daily activities of professional employees and/or supervisors
- Support executive management in developing and executing strategic plans
- Lead activities of business loan originations, development of referral sources, treasury management services, and strategic partnerships nationally
- Develop strategy, establish priorities and set goals; evaluate and implement standards to ensure alignment and achievement with department/organizational objectives
- Manage and direct operations to ensure targets, service level agreements, and corporate objectives are met
- Monitor work environment and allocate resources to ensure adequate staffing to meet production and service standards
- Conduct benchmarking and trend analysis to drive continuous improvement, elevate service performance, generate revenue, minimize financial risk, and maintain operational efficiency
- Identify and resolve operational and performance gaps; implement changes and improvements
- Provide guidance and direction to supervisors regarding strategic projects, complex member related matters and operational issues
- Serve as primary point of contact for Business Solutions development teams; support Vice President - Business Solutions on lending programs, issues, compliance, and opportunities
- Oversee staff analysis of emerging trends, technology, and programs and make recommendations to Vice President-Business Solutions
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations and NFCU policies and procedures
- Monitor and analyze regulatory changes; develop action plans and coordinate changes
- Prepare reports and presentations to senior management
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, goals, priorities; oversee training and development programs
- Serve as change management lead; apply change management principles to conduct organizational assessments and develop strategies and roadmaps
- Lead large strategic projects and programs from inception through implementation
Requirements
- Expert knowledge of commercial lending/commercial banking practices
- Expert knowledge of applicable federal and state laws, rules, and regulations
- Advanced knowledge of banking/financial industry trends, products, and services
- Extensive progressively responsible experience leading and managing a multi-functional, multi-location business account management operation in a large financial institution, including operational and regulatory risks and controls
- Extensive experience in member/customer service operations to include understanding of effective member/customer service philosophy
- Extensive experience in supervising and leading employees
- Expert knowledge of developing, documenting, and presenting credit analyses involving business lending opportunities, including commercial real estate
- Advanced knowledge of data querying, reporting, forecasting, analysis, and operations research, including statistical methods and modeling
- Expert skill developing and implementing programs in a leadership role, providing vision and strategic thinking around a full range of technical decisions and issues
- Expert skill interacting with staff, management, vendors, and members diplomatically and tactfully
- Expert skill building effective relationships through rapport, trust, diplomacy and tact
- Expert organizational, planning and time management skills
- Expert skill identifying and analyzing business requirements and recommending solutions

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
