About the role

  • Serve as a strategic partner to the SVP in setting and executing the vision for procurement and vendor management
  • Drive the planning and execution of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals and timelines
  • Monitor progress on key projects, identify risks or roadblocks, and recommend corrective actions
  • Prepare executive-level briefings, presentations, and reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage the SVP’s priorities, ensuring time and resources are aligned with the most critical business needs
  • Represent the SVP in meetings and working groups, ensuring continuity and follow-through on decisions.
  • Liaise with Finance, Legal, IT, Risk, and other departments to ensure procurement and vendor strategies are integrated and compliant
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration across PVM teams and with external partners to drive operational excellence
  • Support the development and implementation of vendor governance frameworks, performance metrics, and compliance protocols
  • Assist in the evaluation and escalation of vendor-related issues, ensuring timely resolution and alignment with risk management practices
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and scalability
  • Lead operational planning and execution, including budgeting, and resource allocation
  • Support the SVP P&VM in formulating strategic plans and business goals and translate into specific objectives and action plans based upon leadership guidance, research results, trends, best practices, actionable client insights, and analysis of internal and external business environments; monitor and evaluate department effectiveness and implement changes as needed
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts of business processes, engage key stakeholders and leadership to re-design business processes by identifying areas for enhancement and improvement opportunities
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’a degree required; advanced degree (MBA, JD, or related) preferred
  • 12–15+ years of experience in procurement, vendor management, operations, or strategic planning, with at least 5 years in a leadership
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, vendor lifecycle management, and enterprise risk considerations
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and influence senior stakeholders
  • Strategic thinking and business acumen. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  • High level of discretion, judgment, and integrity
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
  • Extensive experience in demonstrating thought-leadership, initiative taking, decision-making and creativity in solving business problems
  • Significant experience in driving change management and influencing organizational culture and values
  • Extensive experience in managing cross-functional, multi-dimensional teams and projects of the highest complexity which have business risk and impact
  • Proven track record of managing complex programs and leading diverse teams
  • Extensive experience managing multiple priorities independently and/or in a team environment to achieve goals
  • Knowledge of workforce management and/or resource planning
  • Advanced skill in building strategic and execution-focused plans and alliances with partner leadership
