About the role
- To lead data engineering projects, ensuring that data systems and pipelines are designed, built, and run effectively for large-scale data processing and analytics
- Manager II leads teams of experienced professionals and is responsible for how connected teams perform and deliver results
- This manager puts strategies into action by setting operational goals, policies, and plans that directly influence daily operations and may affect the department or even the whole organization
- Lead the engineering efforts related to Enterprise Data Governance and Data Quality
- Responsible for advancing multiple workstreams aligned with the organization's strategic data initiatives
- Key responsibilities include enhancing the Enterprise Data Catalog solution, developing Data Quality capabilities, and optimizing Data Access Management for Azure Cloud-hosted enterprise data assets
- Expertise in cloud data platforms is essential, as the role will play a critical part in shaping the organization's cloud data strategy, promoting innovation, and delivering efficient, scalable solutions for data governance and artificial intelligence
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent combination of education, training or experience
- 8-12 years of relevant experience
- 5-8 years of management experience or equivalent experience as the subject matter lead or expert in area of expertise
- Broad expertise or unique knowledge in the data engineering function
- Deep understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Expert analytical and problem-solving skills
- Expert communication and collaboration skills
- Expert knowledge of project lifecycles and management methodologies
- Requires a comprehensive understanding of internal and industry standards and principles
- Ability to influence others internally and externally, including leaders, vendors and regulators
- Experience with Agile practices including Scrum, Azure DevOps, Git and CI/CD
- Experience in financial planning and analysis, encompassing comprehensive cost allocation, continuous budget oversight, and strategic scenario modeling
- Proven expertise in managing vendor relationships for Statement of Work (SOW) execution, developing risk mitigation strategies, and maintaining effective communication channels to ensure successful project outcomes
