About the role

  • Assist in driving alignment and collaboration with business units and the Member Strategy Office
  • Bring expertise to inform design and execution of department initiatives
  • Build cross-organizational buy-in to embed a military community and underserved lens in data-backed decision-making of financial opportunity priorities and Enterprise Strategy execution
  • Establish credibility throughout Navy Federal as an effective collaborator on the development of financial solutions for diverse and underserved populations
  • Support the OFO team in delivering responsibility/accountability for Navy Federal’s Financial Opportunity strategy and initiatives
  • Be a thought leader on creative and flexible solutions for loan and financial services by identifying innovative technologies and analytical tools, relevant risks, and risk mitigation
  • Drive enterprise change and learning by embracing new, flexible, and agile approaches to improve business performance and member service
  • Develop, iterate, and execute short-term and long-term financial opportunity strategies by leveraging analytics and providing insights into innovative industry practices
  • Leverage data to measure, track, and analyze the effectiveness of financial opportunity initiatives to report on progress and identify opportunities
  • Provide strategic recommendations to the OFO team and others regarding opportunities to expand and meet the needs of military communities
  • Assist in the preparation of reports to Navy Federal’s executive team on the status and impact of Navy Federal’s financial opportunity initiatives
  • Direct report to AVP, Portfolio Strategy, Financial Opportunity. May in future lead a team

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Experience in implementing strategic initiatives to support organizational objectives
  • Experience in demonstrating initiative taking, decision-making, and creativity in solving business problems
  • Strong interest in financial inclusion, affordable housing, and digital financial services
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in understanding management priorities and vision regarding how data can be used to inform and drive key business decisions
  • Experience developing and implementing financial services products or solutions, preferably in consumer financial services
  • Extensive experience in managing multiple priorities independently and/or in a team environment
  • Significant experience collaborating on cross functional teams in complex environments
  • Ability to navigate a complex organization while maintaining cultural awareness and flexibility
  • Significant experience in influencing and building relationships within all levels of an organization
  • Expert verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of credit union or retail banking operations (desired)
