About the role
- Provide leadership and direction through managers; accountable for performance and results of related teams/functions
- Develop information technology strategies, policies and plans for product innovation
- Direct a comprehensive product strategy from conception and definition through end of life
- Function as a central resource with design, manufacturing, quality, test, marketing and distribution during product lifecycle
- Direct design, modification and evaluation of all phases of a specific product or group of products
- Formulate and execute long-term plans for cost/profit control
- Promote use of new technologies and industry-leading trends; select, develop, and evaluate personnel
- Monitor macroeconomic indicators and track housing and mortgage/equity market related trends; scan industry news and regulatory changes to identify opportunities and risks
- Work with REL’s and enterprise analytics teams to assess implications of trends on product strategy, market positioning, and portfolio performance
- Collaborate across Navy Federal to optimize market & member share, competitive positioning, and credit risk
- Understand competitors’ strategies, products, and positions to drive competitive edge for members
Requirements
- More than 10 years of experience in Innovation Management, R&D and/or rapid prototype testing
- Prior experience as a thought leader or leading a team of researchers and/or strategists highly desired
- Collaborative, entrepreneurial thinker who stays on top of the latest industry trends and emerging technologies
- Experience researching and socializing state of the art technologies
- Familiarity with Design Thinking methodologies is desirable
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Understanding of REL’s products, market positions, membership, and mission is strongly desirable
- Familiarity with Azure Data Lake, Curinos/Market Insight Tools, Databricks, ICE Mortgage Technology, JetPack, Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, Tableau
