About the role

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in Dynatrace Application Performance Monitoring (APM), Infrastructure Monitoring, and Digital Experience Monitoring
  • Deploy, configure and optimize Dynatrace components (OneAgent, ActiveGates, custom extensions) across various environments (dev, test, prod)
  • Design and implement management zones, tagging strategies, dashboards, alerts, and SLAs tailored to business and technical needs
  • Partner with dev and ops teams to identify monitoring opportunities, integrate Dynatrace with other systems (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, ITSM), and promote best practices
  • Support onboarding of new applications and services into Dynatrace, ensuring accurate telemetry and meaningful insights
  • Develop and maintain synthetic monitoring (clickpaths), JMX/PMI extensions, and custom metrics/log events
  • Analyze performance data to troubleshoot issues, identify bottlenecks, and recommend optimizations across the full stack
  • Provide training, documentation, and mentoring to internal teams and stakeholders to promote Dynatrace adoption and best practices
  • Integrate Dynatrace with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow for incident and change management workflows
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align monitoring strategies with business goals and SLAs

Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience as a Dynatrace Engineer or APM specialist
  • Deep understanding of Dynatrace architecture, configuration, deployment best practices
  • Deep understanding of various Dynatrace features (e.g., OneAgent, ActiveGates, Davis AI, Grail, AppEngine, extensions, dashboards, alerts, synthetic monitoring, log management)
  • Development background in Java, .NET, Node.js, or Python
  • Experience with log management, including ingesting and analyzing logs within Dynatrace
  • Experience with configuring dashboards, tagging strategies, alerting rules, and management zones
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), container orchestration (Kubernetes), and virtualization technologies (VMware, Citrix)
  • Proficiency in synthetic monitoring, custom extensions, and integration with third-party platforms
  • Ability to embed monitoring into CI/CD pipelines for proactive issue detection
  • Experience with monitoring On-Prem, Cloud, and Hybrid environments
  • Integration with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Docker)
  • Strong familiarity with Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation tasks
  • Experience with REST APIs for custom integrations
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases and performance monitoring of database interactions
  • Ability to analyze application performance and diagnose root causes
  • Familiarity with distributed tracing and service flow analysis
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical insights for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • A collaborative, customer-focused mindset with a passion for performance engineering and observability
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical field or 4+ years of equivalent experience in IT
  • Dynatrace Associate certification (Professional level preferred) (desired)
  • Master's Degree in IT Field is desired/preferred (desired)
  • Candidates who have performed a full installation/implementation for E2E monitoring with full stack capabilities (desired)
