About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver software and user experience across the full stack, from multi-language UI and real-time scan visualization to Angular, Python backend, application-level ROS nodes, and the Linux platform
  • Lead, mentor, and grow the System Software team across two squads through technical direction, regular 1:1s, career development, and performance management
  • Ensure communication and collaboration within and across teams and departments
  • Shape product direction as new sensors, form factors, compute platforms, and cross-product features emerge
  • Own software readiness for production launches by defining technical direction and aligning milestones and roadmaps
  • Define team boundaries and hardware/software handover conventions, workflows, interface contracts, and best practices
  • Drive System Software reliability, data quality, scalability, provisioning, update mechanisms, CI pipelines, hardware-in-the-loop tests, and stress tests
  • Uphold engineering quality through development workflow, release, QA, and code-review processes; contribute hands-on and drive AI adoption

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master's degree or PhD in computer science, electrical engineering, robotics, or a related field
  • 7–10 years of professional software engineering experience on systems running on real hardware
  • Experience managing a shared technical boundary between teams, such as platform/driver or software/hardware, including interface definitions, handover conventions, ownership, and joint missions
  • Strong C++ experience in a production codebase
  • Solid Python skills for tooling, scripting, and automation
  • Understanding of application development and UI frameworks sufficient to provide technical direction
  • Demonstrated experience leading or technically mentoring a software team, including people development, task coordination, and stakeholder communication
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English
  • Preferred/additional experience: Angular, React, Vue.js, or comparable UI frameworks; real-time systems; robotics, SLAM, ROS; device provisioning and OTA updates; embedded GPU/graphics stack integration; sensor and camera/video pipelines; real-time 3D graphics or GPU programming; open-source contributions
