About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own end-to-end delivery of software developed by the POD, ensuring timely releases that meet agreed-upon business requirements and quality standards.
- Partner with business owners to define priorities, clarify requirements, and align deliverables with strategic objectives.
- Monitor progress against commitments, proactively addressing risks, dependencies, and resources constraints.
- Ensure that solutions are scalable, secure, and reliable leveraging best practices / patterns / standards of design and architecture.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire the POD team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement (through experimentation and learning).
- Manage staffing; including recruitment, performance management, and professional development for direct and dotted-line resources.
- Drive adoption of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automated testing to maintain high-quality releases.
- Provide technical coaching and professional development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills, knowledge, and career growth.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the POD and business stakeholders when there are escalations from the product owner (or team).
- Proactively collaborate with other development managers to resolve cross-team dependencies and maintain alignment with enterprise technology strategy.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or software engineering, or equivalent work experience is required.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in software development, with a proven track record of increasing responsibility and leading the development of solutions across diverse technologies (e.g., full-stack, cloud-based, ETL) required.
- Previous experience in a leadership, lead, or equivalent capacity, such as managing projects or products, coaching, mentoring, or guiding software development teams required.
- Strong expertise in software development methodologies (especially agile / Scrum), languages, and frameworks required.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices required.
- Experience with cloud-first, API-first, and microservice architectures or strategies (any primary public cloud provider with AWS preferred) required.
- Experience in .Net /C#, Python, and React preferred.
- Experience in the PBM industry preferred.
- Participate in, adhere to, and support compliance program objectives.
- The ability to consistently interact cooperatively and respectfully with other employees.
