About the role
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate vendor, customer, reseller agreements, NDAs, amendments, statements of work, and data processing agreements.
- Legal Advisory: Provide counsel on commercial, corporate, telecommunications, IT, intellectual property, data protection, and maritime law.
- Compliance Oversight: Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, particularly data protection and telecommunications.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with sales, procurement, IT, and operations to provide proactive legal support.
- Project Leadership: Lead complex legal transactions and cross-border agreements and strategic partnerships.
- Policy Development: Develop and improve internal legal policies, processes, and best practices.
- External Counsel Management: Oversee and manage external legal counsel.
- Contract Approval: Ensure adherence to Navarino’s contract approval policies and governance standards.
- Reports to the Chief Legal Officer.
Requirements
- Legal Qualification: Qualified to practice law in Greece.
- Postgraduate Specialization: A Master of Laws (LL.M.) in shipping, IT/software, or telecommunications law is essential.
- Professional Experience: At least 7 years of full-time legal practice preferably in a law firm or in-house commercial environment.
- Experience in an international/English-speaking work setting is required.
- Contractual Expertise: Extensive experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, particularly in the IT, telecommunications, intellectual property, or maritime sectors.
- Excellent writing and speaking skills at both Greek and English.
- Project and Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills across all levels of the organization.
- Proficient use of MS Office applications.
- Great to have: Holder of a law degree from a Greek university; knowledge of English law or dual qualification as an English solicitor; experience in shipping, telecommunications, or IT; experience managing external counsel and cross-border legal issues.
