About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the improvement of availability, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, security, incident response, and capacity planning of products and services
- Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to deliver change safely and securely
- Work alongside colleagues and feature team members to meet defined service level objectives and continually improve systems and environments
- Contribute new ideas and innovations while balancing and managing risk
- Be accountable for the day-to-day health of production and non-production environments
- Provide structure and support for release processes and suggest improvements
- Communicate incident status and provide frequent updates to teams and customers
- Provide technical expertise to establish product and service risk tolerance
- Maintain live services by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong knowledge of reliability systems thinking
- Experience of software engineering
- Experience using a data-driven and scientific approach to fact finding
- Financial services knowledge
- Ability to identify wider business impact, risk, and opportunity, and make connections across key outputs and processes
- Good knowledge of Java and microservices
- Strong knowledge of deployment and release services, automation, and troubleshooting
- Experience using tools and technology across the software development lifecycle
- Strong communication skills and ability to proactively engage with a wide range of stakeholders
