About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage regulatory approval and certification of individuals under SMCR
- Provide subject matter expertise on SMCR matters to the business
- Optimize bank-wide SMCR and Conduct Rules frameworks
- Advise on allocation of accountabilities and governance frameworks
- Manage relationships with stakeholders and liaise with regulators
- Produce high-quality papers and guidance materials
- Contribute to Corporate Governance function's strategy
- Identify and lead process improvements for communication and coordination
Requirements
What you’ll need- Demonstrable experience in an SMCR lead role
- Strong knowledge of governance and regulatory environment
- Excellent understanding of risk management principles
- Extensive experience engaging senior stakeholders
- Proven capability to manage operational and regulatory priorities effectively
- Thorough understanding of complex financial services organisations, structure, functions, and interdependencies
- Experience operating within the banking, regulatory, and commercial environment
- Experience leading, managing, and developing a high-performing, professional team
- Effective team player with proven high-quality interpersonal skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
