About the role
- You take responsibility for the financial performance and ongoing development of our product lines (P&L)
- You regularly analyze sales, margins and inventory and derive concrete actions
- You identify trends, risks and opportunities early and prioritize recommendations for action accordingly
- You understand the stages of the product lifecycle and derive targeted measures from them
- You understand how marketing activities and market positioning influence product performance and coordinate these perspectives with Marketing and Product Development
- You contribute to positioning products appropriately for the market and keeping them successful in the assortment long-term
- You evaluate product, pricing and marketing measures based on data and prepare decision templates
- You develop strategies together with Product Management to scale strong products and to optimize or delist weaker ones
- You ensure our margins and prices remain competitive and that financial targets are met
- You build performance reporting (initially in Excel, and long-term via BI systems like BigQuery)
- You use tools such as JTL, Sellerboard and Notion to ensure transparency of product performance
- You further develop metrics to make the success of measures measurable
- You work closely with Product Development, Quality Management (QM), Marketing, Purchasing and Finance
- You act as the central point of contact for product performance topics and connect operational and commercial perspectives
Requirements
- Degree in Business, Economics, Marketing or a comparable qualification
- At least 2 years of professional experience in Product Management, Category Management or in an analytical role within the e-commerce or FMCG environment
- Confident handling of KPIs, contribution margin concepts and price/margin logic
- Understanding of the product lifecycle and associated marketing
- Strong communication skills, decisiveness and a good sense for commercial relationships
- You enjoy translating numbers into decisions rather than just reporting them
