About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define and execute the operational strategy for digital asset custody services
  • Collaborate with product, compliance technology, and client teams to align custody operations with broader institutional banking goals
  • Manage day-to-day operations of digital custody, including wallet management, transaction processing, reconciliation, and reporting
  • Utilize dashboards and manage staff to monitor team performance, client activity, and progress on bank initiatives
  • Partner with Sales team to resolve client inquiries
  • Develop key metrics to measure progress and efficiency the custody team performance
  • Oversee all training and communications to team members

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8–12+ years of progressive experience in custody, digital assets, financial services, asset servicing, or capital markets, with at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership or director-level role
  • Deep understanding of digital asset custody models, including hot/warm/cold storage, MPC, key management, wallet infrastructure, and transaction controls
  • Demonstrated experience operating within regulated environments, including familiarity with SEC, FINRA, CFTC, OCC, or equivalent global regulatory frameworks
  • Strong knowledge of institutional custody requirements, including asset segregation, reconciliation, settlement, and client reporting
  • Proven ability to design and oversee operational controls, risk frameworks, and incident response processes for digital assets
  • Experience partnering closely with Compliance, Legal, Risk, Security, and Technology teams
  • Familiarity with SOC 1 / SOC 2, ISO 27001, cybersecurity standards, and third-party risk management
  • Track record of leading or scaling custody platforms, post-trade operations, or secure financial infrastructure
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with regulators, auditors, institutional clients, and executive leadership
  • Preferred, not required Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (advanced degree a plus)
