About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Teach adult- and teen-focused classroom courses about the importance of safe driving
  • Teach life-saving Driver Safety Course curriculum to motorists, including individuals required by a state or court to attend mandatory driver retraining
  • Conduct classes on weekends, weekdays, and evenings
  • Deliver four to eight hours of instruction depending on the curriculum
  • Support the National Safety Council's mission to save lives through driver safety education

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience in public speaking
  • Ability to lead effective classroom discussions
  • Ability to handle a diverse group of students
  • Background in sociology, psychology, counseling, or education
  • Personal email address required for e-communication with the Instructor Portal and DDC Information Highway
  • Ability to handle equipment failures, facility issues, individuals with learning or behavioral difficulties, and class disruptions
  • Weekend availability preferred
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must not require employment visa sponsorship
