Security Engineer

• Conduct research projects to improve power systems operations within NREL’s Grid Automation and Controls group.
• Develop cutting edge solutions and work with industry and utility partners to enhance grid reliability, resilience, and security.
• Focus on modeling, simulation, optimization and control for inverter-dominated power systems and renewable integration.
• Develop inverter-based resource models especially adjustable speed pumped storage hydro models in commercial software.
• Conduct renewable integration studies to understand new technologies’ impact on grid stability or grid services.
• Contribute and/or lead writing of research papers and collaborate with NREL researchers to deliver high-impact work.
