About the role
- Coordinates outgoing service contracts, purchases, and other actions to advance conservation investments nationwide.
- Works closely with Conservation Awards and program staff to coordinate the procurement of services and goods.
- Supports contracting and procurement policies while ensuring compliance with funding terms and conditions.
- Develops procurement strategies for pending solicitations and assists in the development and review of requests for proposals.
- Reviews contract/amendment language for consistency with policies and requirements and provides input on matters for additional review.
- Reviews and drafts contracts/amendments, negotiates changes with project leads and vendors, and recommends language updates to templates.
- Serves as a resource to staff and prospective vendors, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
- Trains and mentors staff on current procurement processes and requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of experience in contract administration and compliance, contract management, procurement and acquisition, or related fields.
- Paralegal certificate or legal contract experience a plus.
- Experience working on large-scale ecological fuel reduction, construction, recreation infrastructure, or habitat improvement projects a plus.
- Knowledge of natural resource issues and/or the USDA Forest Service preferred.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
