About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide bookkeeping support to the finance office
  • Prepare checks for deposit and enter invoices into the online bill pay system
  • Assist with credit card, PayPal, Stripe, and conference reconciliations
  • Assist with audit preparation
  • Support the individual donor strategy and process contributions
  • Prepare and distribute donor acknowledgements and thank-you letters
  • Maintain donor database records and monitor the Development inbox
  • Assist with conference and event registration, payments, logistics, reimbursements, and refunds
  • Support office systems, procedures, equipment, facilities, supplies, databases, and operational systems
  • Liaise with IT and telecommunications vendors and coordinate technical support requests
  • Perform basic desktop troubleshooting
  • Manage incoming communications, mail, office visitors, and telephone inquiries
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 1–3 years of experience in an office, administrative, nonprofit, or related environment
  • Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment background check
  • Enthusiasm for ending homelessness in the United States
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and racial justice
  • Experience working with diverse, marginalized, or vulnerable populations
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team-based environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications and database systems
  • Ability to learn new technologies and software platforms
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Prior office management experience and familiarity with accrual-based accounting preferred
