About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Review of patient and reproductive partner’s personal medical/reproductive history and family history
  • Genetic risk assessment and explanation of genetic risks identified
  • Offering of relevant and appropriate testing options
  • Discussion of benefits, risks, and limitations of testing
  • Documentation of session
  • Call-out of results and appropriate follow-up
  • Answer health care provider inquiries
  • Assist in development and improvement of GC protocols, SOPs, systems, and patient education materials
  • Write or collaborate on abstracts or papers
  • Support Natera teams including lab genetic counselors, medical science liaisons, marketing, product, and others
  • Obtain and maintain GC licensure in states offering licensure as assigned
  • Represent company at trade shows and medical conferences; Deliver presentations at scientific meetings and company promotional events (<10% travel)
  • Complete training relating to HIPAA/PHI privacy, General Policies and Procedure Compliance training, and security training as soon as possible but not later than the first 30 days of hire
  • Maintain current status on Natera training requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling or equivalent degree
  • Board certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling or the American Board of Medical Genetics
  • Two or more years of clinical genetic counseling experience
