About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serves patients by identifying the best method for retrieving blood.
- Prepares specimens for laboratory testing.
- Performs screening procedures.
- Maintains specimen integrity by using aseptic technique.
- Tracks collected specimens by initialing, dating, and noting times of collection.
- Maintains quality results by following department procedures and testing schedules.
- Resolves unusual test orders by contacting relevant personnel.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 5 years of phlebotomy experience.
- BS/BA degree (preferred).
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
- Phlebotomy Certificate (if required by State).
