About the role
- Design, develop, and support cutting-edge technical solutions for enterprise data integration
- Implement data normalization and ingestion solutions in AWS using Spark, Postgres, Java, Scala and Unix Utilities
- Define a strategy for data flows to meet the requirements of the Verafin application
- Partner with cross-functional data teams to design, implement, and uphold technical best practices in data engineering, architecture, and governance—ensuring scalable, secure, and high-quality data solutions
- Work hands-on with the latest AWS technologies and big data to solve complex, real-world challenges
- Produce clean and efficient code, ensure uptime, health, and security of cloud-based services
- Collaborate with data teams and iterate on coding practices for continuous improvement
Requirements
- A university degree or college diploma in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- 2-5 years development experience
- Strong analytical skills for complex and creative problem solving
- Experience in object-oriented software development (Java)
- Experience with Database technologies (PostgresSQL)
- Experience with Spark, Scala, Unix utilities
- An understanding of AI methodologies applicable to this area would be beneficial
- Automated testing
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; able to work closely with team members
- 'Customer first' attitude - always putting the customer's needs first
