About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deploy, scale, and maintain our platform and internal tools in AWS using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).
- Develop and champion DevOps best practices, focusing on cloud-native deployments, and work directly with individual development teams to maximize their use of CI/CD pipelines.
- Solve complex support and architecture issues for a mid-size internal developer community.
- Work closely with systems teams (DBAs, Linux/Windows, Network, Storage) to troubleshoot and resolve application incidents.
- Help cover US time zones for our global delivery team, including participating in an on-call rotation for holidays and weekends.
- Ensure our self-hosted tools and AWS environments remain up-to-date, performant, and compliant with strict security standards (SOC and PCI).
- Create and maintain a robust knowledge base to enable other teams and lead individual infrastructure sub-projects.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of working experience as a DevOps or Cloud Infrastructure Engineer in a commercial SaaS product environment.
- Deep, hands-on administrative and architectural experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and its native ecosystem.
- Strong logical and programming skills for automation using Python, Bash, or other scripting languages.
- Proven experience building and maintaining infrastructure using Terraform and Ansible.
- Advanced experience with modern DevOps tooling, specifically Docker, Kubernetes, and enterprise CI/CD pipelines.
- Deep understanding of Linux administration, networking, and application performance tuning in a complex, multi-tier distributed system.
- Experience and working knowledge of relational and NoSQL database technologies.
- Strong experience working within Agile/Scrum lifecycles.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to comfortably interact directly with executives and business users at all levels.
