About the role
- Develop, test, and implement PLC programs for robot controllers, ensuring effective control of automation systems.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to PLC-based systems, including robot controllers and associated automation equipment.
- Work with cross-functional teams to integrate PLC systems with other automation solutions, such as sensors, robotics, and HMI interfaces.
- Continuously monitor and improve system performance by optimizing PLC code and addressing bottlenecks.
- Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including PLC programming code, wiring diagrams, and process flow charts.
- Work closely with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to ensure seamless system functionality and continuous improvement.
- Provide training and support to team members on PLC programming and troubleshooting, ensuring they can maintain and operate systems effectively.
- Ensure all PLC programming activities comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related field.
- Proven experience programming PLCs, specifically for robot controllers and automation systems.
- Hands-on experience with major PLC brands (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, etc.).
- Strong understanding of automation systems, robotics, and industrial control processes.
- Experience with HMI/SCADA systems is a plus.
- Expertise in ladder logic programming, function block diagrams, and structured text.
- Solid understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with robotic systems, including programming and troubleshooting robotic controllers.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Experience with robotic programming (e.g., ABB, KUKA, FANUC).
- Familiarity with PLC simulation software and tools.
- Knowledge of ISO and safety standards for automation systems.
