About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Help participants with bathing, grooming, toileting, dressing, laundry, and meals in the center, clinic, or occasionally in their homes
- Assist participants entering and exiting transportation vehicles and accompany them on rides or offsite medical appointments
- Ensure participants receive correct meals and assist with eating
- Provide gentle physical assistance using proper techniques to ensure safety and avoid injury
- Assist with meal delivery and create a welcoming dining experience
- Monitor vital signs and participant well-being as directed by the care team
- Keep personal care supplies stocked and organized
- Carry out care tasks and status checks based on interdisciplinary team directions
- Communicate with participants, families, team members, and outside providers
- Support SCAN’s vision and goals and perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Passion for caring for older adults, including high-risk seniors and people with complex needs
- Experience as a Personal Care Attendant (PCA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), especially with frail or elderly individuals
- CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to complete certification within 60 days of starting
- CNA or Home Health Aide (HHA) certification preferred but not required
- Flexibility and willingness to provide care in participants’ homes when needed
- Bilingual ability is a plus
- Valid California driver’s license
- Dependable transportation
- Clean driving record
- Current auto insurance
- Proof of Tuberculosis screening upon hire or proof of a negative screening within the last year
