About the role

  • Help shape the backbone of MYOB’s data ecosystem
  • Join us as a Senior Software Engineer at MYOB, where you’ll build and support reliable data flows, ensuring integrity, quality, accessibility, and visibility across the landscape.
  • Collaborating with a team of data engineers to improve standard methodologies and drive smarter decisions throughout the organization.
  • From product and tech to data science and ML, you'll help teams contribute to the data platform through scalable solutions and data product builds.
  • Your work will help manage risk, unlock value, and drive a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in how we do data.
  • As a foundational member of the AI team, you’ll shape the technical vision and build systems that directly impact our customers' success.
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, and observable data pipelines that meet evolving data standards and governance requirements.
  • Develop and optimise structured datasets and metadata frameworks to support advanced analytics, AI, and business intelligence use cases.
  • Collaborate closely with software engineers, data scientists, and analysts to ensure the data platform effectively supports business and product goals.
  • Drive innovation and best practices in data engineering, continuously improving data quality, performance, and delivery efficiency across teams.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in data solutions, technology tools, governance tools, cloud platforms, Python/Scala, and SQL.
  • Experience building pipelines and products with unstructured data, applying relevant techniques such as classic NLP, embedding and feature extraction from multi-modal data.
  • Familiar with engineering practices such as TDD, clean code, CI/CD, and DevOps.
  • Proven experience delivering reliable, efficient data infrastructure.
  • Strong communication skills with a track record of working across business, tech, and data teams.
  • Solid understanding of data quality, consistency, and governance requirements.
  • Ability to understand needs across domains like finance, marketing, sales, customer, and product data.
  • Awareness of data needs for AI/ML and integration with MLOps tools and practices.
