About the role
- Define and drive our strategy for system and product reliability, built on strong engineering practices, cloud‑native principles, and clear architectural defaults across MYOB.
- Lead and mentor the team as they refine and progress toward a shared technical vision while delivering great internal experiences.
- Influence how this vision is understood, adopted, and evolved.
- Help break complex problems into smaller initiatives that deliver incremental customer value.
- Champion our “you build it, you run it” DevOps culture by embedding reliability, observability, and security throughout the full software delivery lifecycle.
Requirements
- Technical leadership that raises the standard for engineering excellence through influence, mentorship, and decisive technical direction.
- Substantial experience with building and maintaining Azure cloud-based solutions utilising known good practice for scalability, resilience and recovery; experience migrating or modernising platforms is highly valued.
- Communication of ideas, processes, concepts and practices clearly to diverse groups.
- A growth mentality and the dedication to continuously improve personal and team processes, practices and performance.
- Pragmatism to balance short-term delivery needs with longer-term strategic direction and objectives, using fast feedback and evolutionary design to maintain efficient delivery.
- An understanding of current engineering techniques such as DevSecOps, continuous deployment and progressive delivery on Azure cloud-native solutions.
