Key responsibilities & impact

Lead, coach, and develop the payroll team through regular 1:1s, feedback, and career growth conversations
Oversee end-to-end multi-client, multi-state payroll processing
Serve as the escalation point for complex payroll issues, wage and tax law questions
Own quality and compliance, executing QC processes, analyzing trends, and implementing corrective actions
Manage capacity, workload, and utilization
Drive continuous improvement, leveraging AI and automation
Partner with leadership, sales, and clients for onboarding and consulting

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR, Accounting, or a related field preferred
7+ years of payroll experience, including multi-state and multi-client environments
Strong grasp of wage and tax laws and payroll auditing
Experience leading, coaching, and developing payroll teams
Knowledge of payroll systems and comfort evaluating and optimizing tools
Commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, compliance, and sound judgment
Collaborative leadership skills and ease working with executives and cross-functional partners
Adaptability in a dynamic, growing organization
