About the role
- Develop predictive models for trader performance, account survival, and risk exposure.
- Quantify success/failure probabilities across account types, evaluation stages, and live funded accounts.
- Build risk metrics for trade behaviors, strategy patterns, and volatility sensitivity.
- Create frameworks to score and evaluate traders based on historical and real-time behaviors.
- Analyze trade-by-trade performance to identify edge, risk of ruin, high-risk traders, and outlier strategies.
- Produce dashboards and reports that surface actionable insights for management.
- Monitor aggregate risk across the firm and recommend adjustments to rules, scaling plans, and max exposure.
- Model impact scenarios around payouts, aggressive traders, news events, and market regime shifts.
- Collaborate closely with leadership to set data-driven risk policies.
- Build or integrate quantitative tools that automate performance tracking, risk alerts, and model refresh cycles.
- Leverage Python, R, SQL, or similar tools to streamline analysis and monitoring.
Requirements
- Strong quantitative background (statistics, mathematics, finance, engineering, computer science, etc.)
- Expertise in modeling, forecasting, or quantitative analysis—ideally in trading, fintech, or risk.
- Advanced proficiency in Python (NumPy, pandas, SciPy), SQL, and data modeling tools.
- Ability to work in a high-intensity, competitive environment where accuracy and speed matter.
- A mindset geared toward continuous improvement, finding edge, and pressure-testing assumptions.
- Experience with proprietary trading, futures, or derivatives markets is a plus.
