About the role
- Triage incoming deal submissions and change requests; own ticketing / intake workflow and SLAs.
- Manage discounting, approval routing and exception workflows per approval matrices and pricing policy.
- Prepare, validate and produce quotes and proposal documents (CPQ or templated quoting tools, spreadsheets, PDF proposals).
- Review commercial terms and pricing for accuracy; coordinate with Finance and Legal on non-standard terms.
- Ensure contract and quote data is correctly captured in the CRM (opportunities, line-items, custom objects) and billing systems.
- Maintain and enforce deal desk policies: discount thresholds, approval authorities, standard T&Cs, bundling/pricing rules.
- Operate and configure deal desk tools (CPQ, quoting platforms, e-signature tools); coordinate with RevOps on integrations.
- Track and report deal desk metrics: turnaround time, approval volumes, discount leakage, quoting accuracy, and reason codes.
- Run periodic audits of closed/won deals to surface policy exceptions and revenue leakage.
- Partner with Sales enablement to train reps on deal submission standards and self-service tools.
- Drive continuous improvement: streamline approval flows, reduce manual work, and propose automations.
- Support month / quarter close activities related to bookings, recognition and audit requests.
Requirements
- 2–5 years experience in a deal desk, sales operations, revenue operations, or similar commercial operations role (B2B SaaS experience preferred).
- Hands-on experience with CRM quoting workflows (Salesforce, HubSpot, or equivalent).
- Experience with CPQ or quoting tools (Salesforce CPQ, Conga, PandaDoc, etc.) strongly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and comfort reviewing contracts, pricing tables, SOWs and commercial terms.
- Excellent communication skills and customer service approach to support sales reps under tight timelines.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets (advanced Excel / Google Sheets); familiarity with basic SQL or scripting is a plus.
- Comfortable enforcing policy while maintaining positive stakeholder relationships.
- Process-oriented with demonstrated ability to document workflows and maintain SLAs.
