About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and grow strategic accounts within the rail sector across Ireland, with a particular focus on the upcoming Metrolink project
  • Develop account plans to expand Murphy Geospatial's digital and geospatial service offerings, leveraging Woolpert's wider international expertise where relevant
  • Identify and shape opportunities for large digital, survey, geospatial, monitoring, and engineering support work packages within major rail and transit programmes
  • Support Murphy Geospatial's positioning on projects associated with the All Island Strategic Rail Plan, MetroLink, Luas expansion, rail upgrades, station developments, depots, and related transport infrastructure
  • Work closely with bid, technical, and delivery teams to support winning proposals, framework positions, and long-term account growth
  • Build and maintain senior-level relationships across rail clients, transport authorities, engineering consultants, Tier 1 contractors, and their supply chains
  • Map account organisations to identify key stakeholders, decision-makers, influencers, and procurement leads
  • Understand customer challenges, project drivers, delivery constraints, and commercial objectives, and align Murphy Geospatial's value proposition accordingly
  • Translate complex technical solutions into clear ROI narratives for procurement, commercial, and bid evaluation teams
  • Represent the client's strategic objectives internally, ensuring high-quality delivery and long-term partnership development
  • Act as a trusted advisor on the use of geospatial, BIM, digital twin, and monitoring methodologies to support planning, design, construction, and operational decision-making
  • Represent Murphy Geospatial at rail industry forums, conferences, and working groups to strengthen brand visibility and sector credibility
  • Participate in panel discussions, webinars, or technical committees to establish Murphy Geospatial as a trusted digital and geospatial partner in the rail sector
  • Support the development of thought leadership, CPD sessions, client workshops, and account-based marketing initiatives relevant to rail infrastructure
  • Maintain awareness of competitor activity, market trends, procurement pipelines, and investment priorities within the Irish rail sector
  • Oversee strategic commercial opportunities within assigned accounts, supporting sound margin, risk, and growth outcomes
  • Maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities through CRM, with clear reporting on account activity, opportunity status, and revenue potential
  • Coordinate internal subject matter experts to develop compelling proposals and ensure Murphy Geospatial presents a joined-up, high-value offer to rail clients
  • Act as a point of reference internally and externally for resolving and escalating customer issues

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of experience in the rail sector, with strong rail engineering-specific experience
  • Proven track record of winning bids or shaping work packages for large rail or transit capital programmes
  • Comfortable with client-side stakeholder management and translating technical value propositions into business cases
  • Experience with major infrastructure projects such as heavy rail, light rail, metro, station development, route upgrades, or transport corridor improvements
  • Strong understanding of rail project lifecycles across planning, design, construction, commissioning, and operation
  • Knowledge of BIM, Digital Twin, Geospatial, and survey technologies
  • Established professional network within the Irish rail sector is highly desirable
  • Full Right to Work in Ireland
  • Willingness and ability to travel across Ireland as needed for client meetings, site visits, industry events, and account development
  • Active contributor to industry forums, panels, or publications on rail and digital innovation (Desirable)
