About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of EHS policies and management systems (ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
  • Provide expert EHS guidance to managers and field-based survey teams.
  • Monitor compliance with UK legislation, industry standards, and codes of practice.
  • Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and review RAMS for high-risk environments, including rail and infrastructure projects.
  • Support incident investigations and promote learning across projects.
  • Deliver inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings aligned to site-specific risks.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture across mobile and remote teams.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Diploma in Health and Safety, NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an EHS role.
  • Strong knowledge of UK health & safety and environmental legislation.
  • Experience working with ISO standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001).
  • Excellent communication, organisational and analytical skills
  • Valid PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification
  • Proven experience working within a rail environment (e.g., rail infrastructure, corridors, or projects)
  • Hold a full valid driving license without endorsements.
