About the role
- Develop and manage capital investment strategies, programs, and projects.
- Ensure compliance with plant and federal safety standards.
- Oversee plant power distribution systems (high, medium, and low voltage).
- Lead project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and risk assessment for engineering initiatives.
- Monitor and control capital spending while managing an engineering project portfolio.
- Identify and implement process improvements through Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies.
- Support maintenance teams with troubleshooting electrical and combustion systems.
- Provide training and mentorship to maintenance electricians.
- Coordinate departmental systems upgrades and ensure sustainable operations.
- Drive functional excellence initiatives and share best practices across teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required (Electrical preferred).
- 10–15 years of engineering experience in heavy industrial manufacturing.
- Direct project management experience, including construction supervision and unit control projects.
- Strong knowledge of AC and DC circuits, and high-voltage systems.
- Maintenance and troubleshooting experience preferred.
- Contract administration experience a plus.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologies.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence across teams.
