About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop detailed fire sprinkler system designs and layout drawings using HydraCAD Software
Perform hydraulic calculations and material take-offs in accordance with NFPA standards and local codes
Review architectural, structural, and mechanical plans to ensure proper system coordination
Prepare submittals, fabrication drawings, and as-built documentation
Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and field supervisors to achieve design intent and code compliance
Mentor junior designers and provide technical guidance
Stay current with fire protection codes and standards, including NFPA, IBC, and IFC
Participate in project meetings and communicate with clients, contractors, and AHJs

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum 5–10 years of experience in fire sprinkler or fire protection design
Proficiency in AutoCAD, HydraCAD, Navisworks, and/or Revit
In-depth knowledge of NFPA, FM Global, and other related standards
Strong understanding of building and fire codes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple design projects
