About the role

  • Design, develop, and maintain data automation solutions to support analytics, reporting, and operational needs.
  • Build and manage automated data pipelines (ETL/ELT) to ingest, transform, and deliver data from multiple sources.
  • Automate data ingestion, validation, transformation, and enrichment processes to reduce manual effort and errors.
  • Integrate data across systems using APIs, databases, files, and cloud services.
  • Develop scripts and services to ensure data availability, quality, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with data analysts, BI developers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into automated solutions.
  • Support and optimize analytical workloads and Power BI through backend automation and data preparation (not focused on dashboards).
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for pipelines and automated processes.
  • Assist in migrating data automation solutions from on-premises environments to the cloud.
  • Ensure data governance, security, and consistency in automated data flows.
  • Act as a mentor to junior developers and contribute to data automation best practices.

Requirements

  • Strong experience developing automation scripts and data processing using Python, SQL, PowerShell, or similar.
  • Experience with scheduled jobs, batch processes, and event-driven automations.
  • Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment.
  • Solid understanding of ETL/ELT, data pipelines, and orchestration.
  • Experience automating data transformations and validations.
  • Knowledge of data modeling to support analytics and reporting.
  • Strong SQL skills for querying, transforming, and optimizing data.
  • Experience with relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Ability to support analytical use cases with efficient data structures.
  • Experience integrating data via APIs, files (flat files), and external systems.
  • Knowledge of authentication mechanisms (tokens, OAuth, service principals).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (preferably Microsoft Azure; AWS is a plus).
  • Familiarity with cloud data services (storage, processing, and compute).
  • Experience with Power Automate, Azure Logic Apps, or similar tools.
  • Ability to combine low-code solutions with custom automations.
  • Experience supporting Power BI or analytical tools through automated data preparation (not focused on visualization).
  • Knowledge of performance optimization and refresh of analytical datasets.
  • Experience supporting analytics and reporting environments is highly desirable.
  • Cloud and data certifications are a plus.
