About the role
- The Product Owner is responsible for maximizing the product value resulting from the development team's work.
- This role involves close collaboration with the Product Manager, Business Owners, and development teams to translate the product's high-level vision and strategy into user stories and actionable tasks.
- The Product Owner ensures the team understands the product requirements and works to deliver high-quality increments that meet business needs.
- Technical Product Owners (TPOs) are required (instead of regular POs) where products are highly technical and require frequent "Technology Facilitators" to drive business capabilities.
- Own and manage the user stories for your assigned team within the product backlog, ensuring they are up to date, prioritized, and aligned with the product roadmap and the strategic direction defined by the Product Manager.
- Write clear, concise, and actionable user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria.
- Continuously refine and prioritize the backlog based on stakeholder feedback, business value, and changing requirements.
- Work closely with the Product Manager to understand the product vision, strategy, and objectives.
- Interact with Engineering teams, Architects, and other stakeholders to gather technical requirements, collect feedback, and validate stories.
- Facilitate communication between stakeholders and the development team to ensure alignment.
- Provide technical guidance and leadership to engineering teams, ensuring that technical solutions are aligned with product requirements and business objectives.
- Collaborate with Technology Solution Architects and Integration Engineers to design and implement technically viable solutions.
- Review and approve technical designs, ensuring they meet quality standards and align with the product vision.
- Participate in sprint planning meetings to help the team understand requirements and prioritize tasks.
- Ensure the development team has a clear understanding of user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Provide timely feedback and clarifications to the development team during sprints.
- Collaborate with the development team to deliver high-quality product increments that meet defined requirements.
- Conduct regular reviews and demonstrations of completed work to collect feedback and ensure alignment with business needs.
- Ensure delivered features meet acceptance criteria and are release-ready.
- Monitor and evaluate product performance using metrics and KPIs and make data-driven decisions to improve the product.
- Participate in retrospectives and other continuous improvement activities to enhance team performance and product quality.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to inform product decisions.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for user stories, features, and product requirements.
- Communicate progress, risks, and issues to the Product Manager and other stakeholders.
- Ensure all relevant information is shared with the development team in a timely manner.
- Work closely with Product Managers to ensure the product's technical backlog is aligned with the overall product vision, strategy, and roadmap.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure technical solutions are aligned with product requirements and business goals, providing technical leadership throughout the development process.
- Interact with Business Owners to understand business priorities, gather technical requirements, and validate technical features.
- Work with technical teams to ensure solutions are viable, scalable, and aligned with architectural standards.
- Facilitate communication between stakeholders and technical teams to ensure alignment and gather feedback on the product's technical development.
