About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist with all work related to HVAC/Mechanical/Industrial projects
- Measure and cut pipe according to requirements
- Soldering, brazing, threading pipe, grooving pipe, installing hangers as well as carbon steel pipe (up to 24)
- Repairing malfunctions, breakages or leaks
- Testing pipe systems to ensure safety and functionality
- Communicate professionally with management, superintendent and customers
- Follows all safety policies and procedures.
- Observe, report and correct unsafe work environments
- Collaborate with other workers to complete project
- Other such duties and responsibilities as assigned by the company from time to time.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2-3 Years of experience fitting pipe
- Must have personal hand tools required for the position
- Present yourself in a professional manner
- Ability to communicate clearly with Foreman and follow direction
- Ability to show up on time, ready to work and in uniform
- Must successfully pass a background check
- Must successfully pass a drug test
- Ability to identify, install and repair mechanical pipe systems
- Ability to read blueprints
- Ability to recognize, set up and operate hand and power tools common to the trade as needed
- Knowledge of cutting and welding methods
- Ability to abide by basic safe work practices.
