About the role
- Assist underwriters in evaluating property insurance applications, including gathering and analyzing relevant data.
- Conduct research on various properties and assess potential risks associated with insuring them.
- Assist in the preparation of underwriting reports and recommendations.
- Collaborate with other team members to review policy documents and ensure accuracy and compliance with company guidelines.
- Participate in underwriting meetings and discussions to gain insight into the decision-making process.
- Provide support in handling inquiries from clients, brokers, and other stakeholders.
- Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned by the underwriting team.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program, preferably in insurance, risk management, finance, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
- Prior internship or work experience in insurance, underwriting, or related fields is a plus but not required.
