About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop ongoing professional relationships with decision makers in reference laboratories, organized health systems, managed market organizations, and oncology pathway organizations
- Provide access to accurate medical and scientific information across the oncology product portfolio and therapeutic areas
- Develop strategic account plans with PHSO MADs, oncology account management, and precision medicine teams
- Execute medical activities aligned with agreed account plans
- Monitor market dynamics and evolving information needs within the territory
- Feed market insights into value-proposition development for oncology product and non-product offerings
- Communicate and coordinate with the Regional Medical Scientific Director regarding medical and scientific support needs
- Support strategic planning for the PHSO MAD Team Lead, PHSO Executive Director Medical Affairs, and US Medical Affairs
- Attend and support scientific and medical meetings
- Prepare post-meeting deliverables
- Mentor other team members
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum MD, PharmD, or PhD
- 3 years of dedicated field-based Medical Affairs experience with reference labs, regional and/or national payers, integrated delivery systems, or scientific leaders, OR 5 years of clinical experience within a health system, OR equivalent experience
- Experience with organized healthcare systems or payer organizations
- Ability to develop peer-to-peer relationships with key decision makers
- Thorough knowledge of oncology biomarkers and diagnostics and their application to clinical medicine
- Knowledge of managed market environments, disease management, and medical research
- Thorough knowledge of oncology precision medicine, biomarkers, and diagnostics
- Knowledge of healthcare delivery system structure and function, healthcare delivery policy, and trends
- Excellent interpersonal communication and networking abilities
- Strong personal integrity, collaborative mindset, and customer focus
- Thorough understanding of ethical guidelines relevant to the pharmaceutical industry
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and work effectively in a constantly changing environment
- Demonstrable project leadership abilities
- Must reside within the territory covering MI, IL, IN, WI, MN, ND, SD, NE, IA, KS, MO, OK, AR, LA, TX, and NM
- Ability to travel up to 50% within the territory
- Must be located near a large-city hub airport
- Preferred: field-based medical experience in precision medicine
- Preferred: academic or industry research experience and manuscript co-authorship in immunology, cancer biology, or related disciplines
- Preferred: formal training in health economics and/or outcomes research
- Valid driving license
