About the role
- Engage in Scientific Exchange with national and regional Scientific Leaders (SLs) to provide company-approved medical and scientific information
- Conduct peer-to-peer scientific discussions and address scientific questions from SLs
- Liaise between the scientific community and the Company to support approved, in-development, and investigator-sponsored research
- Initiate discussions with SLs/potential investigators to assess alignment with research strategies and study concepts
- Recommend study sites, identify potential investigators, conduct Site Initiation Visits (SIVs), and detect barriers to patient enrollment and retention
- Serve as protocol lead in collaboration with Global Clinical Trial Operations and address investigator questions about Company-sponsored clinical studies
- Support Scientific Congresses and medical meetings facilitating scientific and data exchange
- Gather Scientific Insights and feedback to inform company understanding of medical/scientific needs and priorities
- Serve as a role model for field medical team members and contribute to on-boarding and therapeutic expertise sharing
- Demonstrate inclusive mindset and contribute to a diverse and inclusive workforce
- Field-based responsibilities covering OH, Western PA, and the Ohio Valley area with approximately 50% travel
Requirements
- Minimum PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO, or MD
- Proven competence and a minimum of 3 years of relevant therapeutic area (Gastrointestinal) experience beyond that obtained in the terminal degree program
- Ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions with key external stakeholders
- Dedication to scientific excellence with a strong focus on scientific education and dialogue
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and networking skills
- A thorough comprehension of FDA, OIG, HIPAA, and other ethical guidelines, laws, and regulations relevant to the pharmaceutical industry and its customers
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and work effectively in a constantly changing environment
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, OneNote)
- Familiarity with virtual meeting platforms
- Consistent adherence to field and corporate policies and Global Medical Scientific Affairs (GMSA) strategy, including field standard operating procedures (SOPs), Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines, and administrative/operational responsibilities
