About the role
- Design, build, and deploy the digital infrastructure that manages biomarker specimen assets
- Integrate, clean, and govern disparate data sources (biorepositories, central and testing labs) into a cohesive governed data environment
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive specimen inventory and assay metadata from clinical trials
- Embed automated quality control checks and validation rules into data pipelines to ensure compliance and integrity
- Support teams with reports of biomarker information using various query and database integration tools
- Leverage Microsoft Power Platform to eliminate manual processes in specimen tracking, data QC, and reporting; build reusable automation solutions
- Design and implement scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Azure SQL
- Create and manage dynamic, interactive dashboards in Power BI and Fabric; develop data models and visualizations for self-service access
- Maintain effective communications and relationships with project teams, vendors, and cross-functional company teams
- Build and deploy automation and analytics solutions that increase efficiency and accuracy across dozens of clinical trials
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's (with 12 years), Master's (with 8 years) or Ph.D. (with 4 years) in bioinformatics, computer science, data science, engineering, data analytics, life sciences or related field
- Deep understanding of the clinical trial process (protocols, specimens, clinical data)
- Proven expertise in Microsoft Power Platform: Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse
- High proficiency in SQL and practical experience using Python for data processing and automation
- Database architecture experience: designing normalized relational schemas and enforcing referential integrity
- Cloud data expertise, strong preference for Azure (including Azure Data Factory, Gen1/2 dataflows)
- Advanced Power BI skills including robust data models and advanced DAX
- Experience with LIMS systems and building relational models (preferred)
- Hands-on experience with large-scale data transformations (e.g., Databricks) and multi-cloud familiarity (Azure Blob Storage and Amazon S3) (preferred)
- Experience with Copilot Studio, LLMs, and embedding LLMs/autonomous agents into data processes (preferred)
- Fluency in clinical development and experience with clinical systems, strong preference for Veeva CTS
- Mastery of Jira and Confluence; solid understanding of SDLC and building compliant (GxP) solutions
- Experience deploying Azure Functions and using Azure Logic Apps
