Conduct in-depth credit analysis on lease guarantor applications, including income assessment, liquid asset verification, credit history; escalate higher-risk or non-standard applications as appropriate
Collaborate with sales team to ensure end-to-end process integrity
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts and underwriters
Take escalation calls from property managers or applicants to discuss complex scenarios, clarify credit policy, or help resolve issues that arise during the approval process
Support ongoing enhancement of process workflow, credit policies, scoring models, and risk assessment frameworks
Participate in system and process improvement initiatives to streamline credit evaluation procedures
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (Postgraduate qualifications or CFA designation a plus)
5+ years of experience in credit analysis, preferably within residential lending or financial services
Strong knowledge of consumer underwriting practices, credit policy, and regulatory compliance in the residential market
Experience in commercial underwriting is a plus
Solid understanding of financial statements, credit scoring, and risk grading models
Experience leading a team, mentoring junior staff, or acting as a point of escalation for credit-related matters
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
Proficient in credit decisioning platforms and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly
Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment
