About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare and enter journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Record foreign-currency transactions and calculate exchange gains/losses
- Perform advanced financial and variance analysis during month-end close
- Calculate and record accruals and prepayments
- Communicate with international branches and report on worldwide offices
- Create detailed spreadsheets, financial reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals
- Assist with month-end close tasks
- Maintain working knowledge of company policies, procedures, systems, and accounting processes
- Establish and maintain relationships with staff, vendors, and other business contacts
- Respond promptly to requests or issues and provide complete information or resolution
- Support the Account Manager with corporate financial activities and projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum two years’ general accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- CPA license a plus
- PC experience in a Microsoft Windows environment
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint preferred
- Ability to type data and use a PC for long periods of time
- Ability to set and track goals
- Must be ethical
- Detailed and thorough work habits with multitasking ability
- Ability and desire to follow precise instructions
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, organizational, and teaching skills
- Ability and/or experience to read, analyze, and interpret government rules and regulations, technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
- Ability and/or experience to write reports, business correspondence, articles, and presentations
- Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication and telephone etiquette
- Able to communicate with people at all levels
- Available to work early, late, and weekends when needed
