About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare and post period-end journals, ensuring accurate and timely recording of Supply Chain and Online costs.
- Complete robust balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving reconciling items promptly.
- Analyse variances against budget and prior year, and help produce clear commentary on financial performance.
- Support preparation of reporting packs and performance updates for management stakeholders.
- Produce weekly reporting across Supply Chain costs to support timely and informed decision-making.
- Accurately capture and code supplier costs and operational metrics to support reporting and analysis.
- Provide ad hoc analysis to identify trends, risks and opportunities across the cost base.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Finance and Supply Chain, supporting budgeting and forecasting activity.
- Support the year-end process, including audit deliverables and liaising with auditors when required.
- Help strengthen the control environment by identifying opportunities to improve finance processes, reporting and systems.
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least 3 years’ experience in a finance role within a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Retail, ecommerce or supply chain experience would be advantageous.
- Studying towards an accountancy qualification, or keen to continue progressing professionally.
- Strong Excel and analytical skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- A proactive mindset, with the confidence to challenge, improve processes and work collaboratively with stakeholders.
