About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

The Systems Engineer will be responsible for the public safety design and implementation of solutions for Motorola’s ASTRO 25 and adjacent technologies for State and Local government agencies.
Design and implementation of the radio network including infrastructure, subscribers, mobile backhaul and WAN and CEN networks.
High level of customer and consultant interaction involving customer design reviews, customer witnessed staging and acceptance testing events, coverage acceptance testing, live system upgrades, and troubleshooting efforts.
System buildout, configuration and acceptance testing in both lab staging and field environments.
Radio coverage testing, frequency analysis and interference mitigation.
Radio system licensing (FCC/Industry).
Preparation of system fleet map, encryption and radio programming templates.
Complete system documentation.
Live system cutovers and upgrades.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or technical discipline
7+ years of engineering or technical experience OR 10 years of engineering or technical experience
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required.
Experience with Motorola ASTRO 25 architecture is a plus.
Certifications a plus through CompTIA Network+, Juniper JNCIA-Junos, Nokia NRS1, CCNA or similar a plus.
