About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyze US Army Capability Set requirements and Mission Command network design goals to map operational gaps to our tactical radio capabilities.
- Conduct market research to identify full product solutions and synergies with emerging industry partners, collaborating with the Applications Engineering team to test and evaluate these end-to-end architectures.
- Design and build high-impact, "art-of-the-possible" demonstrations tailored to the unique operational needs of the Army, highlighting future tactical edge network possibilities.
- Lead the technical planning, network configuration, and live-on-the-air execution of field trials, modernizations, and user evaluations in conjunction with the BD and Applications Engineering teams.
- Collaborate with the Applications Engineering team to leverage continuous large-scale testing and competitive benchmarking data, ensuring all proposed architectures are structurally sound and unassailable.
- Partner with the Business Development team to engage early with Army program managers, Science and Technology (S&T) leads, and warfare centers to write advanced technology capabilities into upcoming 3-to-5-year program requirements.
- Remain closely aligned with the Business Development team, setting strategic priorities and supporting their technical needs.
- Serve as the technical anchor for the RFI/RFP response team, providing strategic technical direction, defining nuanced product capabilities, and performing expert reviews to ensure proposal accuracy and alignment.
- Build trusted-advisor relationships with Chief Engineers, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and technical evaluators across the Army.
- Act as the internal voice of the soldier, translating complex Army field feedback and emerging requirements into actionable product roadmaps, and actively track engineering progress to ensure the final deliverables precisely meet the soldier's operational needs.
- Perform other related duties of which the above are representative.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related C5ISR technical field with at least 5 years of demonstrated experience in systems engineering, technical business development, or forward-looking defense technology roles; OR High School Diploma/GED with at least 9 years of relevant experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience working directly with Software-Defined Radios (SDRs), IP-based tactical routing protocols, and tactical communication systems.
- Strong knowledge of US Army tactical procurement pathways and the network modernization priorities outlined by the Army Futures Command.
- Proficiency with radio frequency instruments such as signal generators and spectrum analyzers.
- Willingness to travel frequently (50%) to customer sites, DoD research laboratories, and strategic field-testing environments.
- Security Clearance: Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one within 15 months of hire. Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
