About the role
- Participate in pre-construction activities by establishing document control procedures, performing quantity takeoffs, conducting site investigations, and initiating permit processes
- Coordinate project start-up by reviewing owner contract and assisting with development of startup checklist and site utilization plan
- Expedite materials by developing submittal log and establishing fabrication & delivery schedule
- Coordinate construction activities by strategizing with Superintendent and conducting quality control inspections
- Facilitate project administration by expediting subcontractor and vendor agreements and preparing meeting agendas
- Track project costs by processing subcontractor and vendor pay requests
- Manage change order process by creating and reviewing scope changes
- Manage project closeout by preparing closeout log and participating in punch list process
- Participate in personal career development by engaging in professional organizations and training programs
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering or related discipline
- 6 months to one-year internship experience as a project engineer or assistant project engineer in the construction industry
- Strong computer skills are a necessity, including familiarity with construction project management applications
