About the role
- Assist the project manager on prevailing wage and apprenticeship engagements within the renewable energy sector.
- Participate in meetings with clients and contractors, train stakeholders on PWA requirements, address process and technical inquiries, and provide hands-on support throughout the project lifecycle.
- Obtain, organize, and manage documentation obtained from clients and contractors.
- Conduct tax research on Internal Revenue Code sections, tax regulations, and Department of Labor guidelines (including Davis–Bacon Act).
- Utilize interpersonal communication skills to build and strong relationships with Moss Adams colleagues and clients.
- Assist team leaders by documenting and analyzing processes, internal controls, and workflow to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support project staff in day-to-day service delivery.
- Draft technical reports, memoranda, and correspondence.
- Support audit defense efforts with taxing authorities.
- Learn and grow from direct on-the-job coaching and mentoring along with participating in firmwide learning and development programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; emphasis in Accounting, Business, Construction Management or Engineering preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience in tax credits and incentives, tax compliance, or Prevailing Wage & Apprenticeship services
- Advanced degree preferred (e.g. MST, JD, or LL.M)
- CPA, Enrolled Agent, Professional Engineer or bar membership or equivalent credential strongly preferred
- If not certified, must meet educational requirements to obtain license upon hire in state of employment
- Strong interest or experience in the construction industries, renewable energy industries, and labor compliance, particularly related to PWA requirements
- Excellent client service skills, both internal and external
- Advanced data analytical skills
- Extensive experience in Excel, including reviewing complex formulas
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Strong research skills, particularly in tax and labor regulations
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, tasks, and simultaneous projects efficiently
- Ability to travel as needed, approximately 10%
