About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Review, analyze, manage, and resolve field coordination issues with project team members and participants
Interpret project plans, specifications, and details for subcontractors and craft persons
Implement the pre-construction quality plan and obtain and maintain construction permits
Develop and maintain material tracking, testing and inspection, concrete placement, and non-conformance documentation
Create, oversee, and distribute contract documents
Establish electronic document handling procedures, including RFIs and correspondence
Support project closeout processes
Lead testing and inspection processes for construction quality management
Implement the three-phase inspection system and establish reporting, scheduling, and off-site testing procedures
Notify the Project Manager and Superintendent of nonconforming test or inspection results
Coordinate, package, review, process, expedite, and report on submittals
Coordinate subcontractor details, including insurance verification, paperwork, and final payment requests
Develop and distribute RFIs and Change Orders
Manage revisions and updates to as-built construction documents
Mentor, manage, and evaluate field engineers
Determine alternative work methods, coordinate safety and compliance, and maintain project timelines

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline, or equivalent experience
3+ years related construction experience
Detail orientation sufficient to organize and effectively run multiple tasks
Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, and analytical skills
Positive and professional attitude and customer service skills
Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies
Current driver’s license
Must be able to travel 100%
Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without employment visa sponsorship
